Loch Katrine

During the glorious summer of 2018 we were asked by Loch Katrine to provide marketing support, promoting their newly opened Eco Camp.

The camp is located next to Trossachs Pier, where the Steamship Sir Walter Scott regularly sails from, consisting of a series of eco timber lodges and small camp ground. The new camp was funded by the charitable trust that operate the steamship, assisted by a grant from Forth Valley and Lomond LEADER.

Here is the official opening of the Eco Camp by Dr Michael Cantley Chair of Scottish of Natural Heritage and Bruce Crawford, the MSP for the area.

As part of the project we produced two new films for Loch Katrine. One for the destination as a whole and the other specifically about the Eco Camp.

Aerial Filming & Photography

We filmed aerial footage of Trossachs Pier and the Loch Katrine Eco Camp to show the incredible beauty of both the loch and the surrounding Trossachs.

The introduction of the Eco Camp enhances further Loch Katrine as one of Scotland’s favourite destination. The steamship is named after Sir Walter Scott, who wrote his famous poem ‘The Lady of the Lake’ along the shores of the loch.

Beyond its role as a much loved destination in the Trossachs Loch Katrine has been providing the city of Glasgow with its water supply for 160 years.

The words of Sir Walter Scott and many other literary giants of the 18th century, who also visited Loch Katrine, inspired Scotland’s first tourism boom. Inspired by the blockbusters of the day Loch Katrine became a popular destination and its initiatives such as the Eco Camp that will no doubt retain Loch Katrine’s popularity.

Above you can see the interior of one of the Eco Lodges and below both the Steamship Sir Walter Scott and The Lady of the Lake sailing together on Loch Katrine.

At the other end of Loch Katrine is Stronachlachar, here we have also produced videos for some of the accommodation providers and the Pier Café.

At the start of 2019 we were delighted to be asked to provide on-going marketing consultancy and support to the management team of Loch Katrine. Part of this work will be to prepare for the 120th anniversary of the steamship in 2020.
