Sustainability

Working in one of Scotland's most special places comes with responsibility

I'm based within Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, and work every day in and around some of Scotland's most iconic landscapes. That's not something I take for granted. It shapes how I work, who I support, and what I care about.

Sustainability isn't a policy I've written down — it's a set of choices I make consistently, about the organisations I work with, the work I take on, and the way I run my business.

Supporting conservation where I live and work

I'm a proud business supporter of Friends of Loch Lomond & The Trossachs — a charity dedicated to protecting the natural and cultural heritage of the National Park. My support has included:

Donating free access to my landscape photography library for their use. Dedicating five days of professional time to design a new website at no cost. Donating a share of profits from my photography guidebook, 101 Things to Do in Loch Lomond & The Trossachs, directly to the charity.

These are long-term contributions, not one-off gestures.

Supporting charities and not-for-profits across Scotland

I offer 20% off all my services to charities and not-for-profit organisations across Scotland — this includes photography, video, website design, and marketing consultancy. Over the years, I've worked with organisations including Fife Carers Centre, The Maid of the Loch, The Great Trossachs Forest, The Preshal Trust, Steamship Sir Walter Scott Trust, Family Learning Community, The Three Lochs Way, The West Highland Way, and The Volunteer Tutors Organisation.

Working closely with these groups has given me first-hand insight into the impact they make and the challenges they face. It's some of the most rewarding work I do.

Helping organisations tell their sustainability story

Many of my clients — accommodation providers, rural businesses, heritage organisations, community groups — are doing genuinely good work on sustainability but struggling to communicate it clearly and credibly. I help them find the right words and approach so that their values come through in everything they publish, not just a page on their website.

Honest, well-told stories build trust. That's true for sustainability as it is for everything else in marketing.

How sustainability shapes how I work day to day

I prioritise long-term client relationships over short-term campaigns. I work remotely where possible to reduce unnecessary travel. I support local suppliers and recommend them to clients where relevant. And I help clients build marketing foundations that last — rather than chasing short-term results that don't compound.

Scotland has set an ambition to reach net-zero by 2045. I want the work I do to point in the same direction.

Working together

If your organisation is on its own sustainability journey and needs help communicating it — or if you're looking for a marketing partner who takes these things seriously — I'd be glad to talk.

The best first step is a free 30-minute conversation.
