Allanwater Brewhouse
Allanwater Brewhouse is an award-winning craft brewery and pub in Bridge of Allan, combining traditional brewing methods with modern flavours. I’ve worked closely with founder Douglas Ross for several years, most recently creating a new website for the brewery, packed with photography, video, an integrated online shop, and a tour booking system.
In preparing to build the new website, I spent time getting to know the business with Douglas. I wanted to ensure the new site captured its cosy, welcoming spirit. As part of this, we held a couple of photography sessions to ensure a consistent image style across the website. I also produced a video introduction for the homepage to showcase the Brewhouse atmosphere.
A key part of the project was developing a smooth, customer-friendly brewery tour booking system, including reminder texts and automated review requests. This system integrates seamlessly into the website and demonstrates the versatility of the Squarespace platform I use exclusively—if a feature isn’t built-in, it’s easy to integrate with specialist tools.
The website is easy to update, allowing Douglas and his team to list upcoming events (there are lots of regular themed nights) and the latest brewing notes.
It’s been a pleasure working with Douglas, not just on the Brewhouse site, but also on the Discover Bridge of Allan community website, where he serves as a Trustee.
