The Great Trossachs Forest

The Great Trossachs Forest is one of the UK's most ambitious woodland restoration projects, located in the heart of Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park. Stretching from Inversnaid to Loch Katrine and Glen Finglas, it spans over 160 square kilometres. The project aims to restore native woodlands, enhance biodiversity, and create a thriving, resilient landscape for wildlife and people.

It’s managed by Forestry and Land Scotland, RSPB Scotland, and Woodland Trust Scotland, working in partnership with other conservation groups. The area supports iconic species like red squirrels, ospreys, and black grouse, and offers inspiring access to nature.

The Great Trossachs Forest team commissioned me to create a new website to help promote conservation and promote good visitor management practices.

The Great Trossachs Forest website serves as both an educational and practical resource, clearly communicating the scale and ambition of this landmark conservation project. It explains the forest’s long-term mission to restore native habitats, support biodiversity, and build climate resilience, while highlighting the collaborative efforts of partners like RSPB Scotland, Woodland Trust Scotland, and Forestry and Land Scotland.

The site also plays a key role in visitor management, offering maps, trail guides, wildlife information, and responsible access advice to help people explore the area sustainably. It encourages public involvement while balancing conservation priorities with a welcoming visitor experience.

I enjoyed building this website and developing content about this special part of Scotland. If you would like to find out more about websites or any of my other marketing services, please get in touch.
