Trusted marketing partner for Stirling and Stirlingshire

I know my home patch of Stirling and Stirlingshire exceptionally well — not just as a marketing consultant but as someone who has been embedded in its business and community life for over 16 years.

I’ve worked with tourism attractions and accommodation providers, family businesses and start-ups, charities and community organisations, professional services firms and rural enterprises. I’ve written about the area’s businesses in Parklife Magazine for over a decade. I’ve sat on the board of a destination organisation. I’ve helped businesses secure funding, build websites, tell their stories, and find new customers.

That depth of local knowledge — and the genuine connections built across Stirling and Stirlingshire over many years — is something no agency or generalist consultant can replicate. When I work with a business here, I’m not starting from scratch. I already understand the landscape, the audience, the local economy and the opportunities. That makes everything faster, sharper and more effective.

More than a marketing consultant — a trusted local partner

For businesses in Stirling and Stirlingshire, working with me means more than getting good marketing delivered. It means having a trusted person in your corner who knows the area as well as you do — and who can connect you with other local businesses, organisations and opportunities when that’s useful.

Over 16 years of working across the area, I’ve built genuine relationships with businesses, destination groups, community organisations, funders and media contacts throughout Stirlingshire. Those connections don’t appear on any service page — but they’re part of what makes a long-term local partnership genuinely valuable.

Several of my Stirlingshire client relationships have lasted a decade or more. That’s not a coincidence — it’s what happens when trust is built properly, and the work consistently delivers.

STEP Scotland and Business Gateway — over a decade of partnership

One of my longest and most substantial connections to the Stirling area is through STEP Scotland — the organisation that delivers the Business Gateway service locally and administers Expert Help across Stirling and Falkirk.

I’ve worked with STEP for over a decade, delivering more than 150 Expert Help projects for businesses across the area — supporting start-ups finding their feet and established companies looking to sharpen their marketing and grow with confidence. The work spans marketing strategy, brand positioning, website development, content, photography and video — always focused on practical outcomes rather than theoretical plans.

Alongside the consultancy work, I’ve produced extensive video and digital content for STEP itself — including a 40-film series to mark their 40th anniversary, and ongoing testimonial and impact content for Business Gateway Falkirk.

“Paul’s grasp of our company’s story was truly impressive. What stood out was his knack for turning complex ideas into simple, engaging stories. His collaborative spirit fostered a true sense of partnership — a rarity in the industry.”

— Jenn McArthur, Marketing Director, STEP Scotland, Stirling

Stirling and Stirlingshire clients

Tourism attractions and destinations

I’ve worked with some of Stirlingshire’s most significant visitor attractions and heritage destinations — including the National Wallace Monument and the Church of the Holy Rude in Stirling. Work has covered promotional video, photography, marketing strategy and digital content — helping these organisations communicate their stories clearly and reach new audiences effectively.

“Paul recently completed two promotional videos for the National Wallace Monument. He had excellent ideas and suggestions and I am extremely happy with the quality of work produced.” — Katie McKay, National Wallace Monument

Tourism and hospitality businesses

I’ve worked with Allanwater Brewhouse in Bridge of Allan — delivering photography, video and website design to support their brewery tour business and online beer sales.

Long-established family businesses

I’ve worked with several of Stirlingshire’s best-known family businesses over many years. Fraser C Robb, the garden and groundcare machinery business based in Drymen, has been a trusted marketing partner for over a decade — growing their YouTube channel to 3.7 million views and supporting the development of a TV advertising campaign. James D Bilsland is another long-established local business I’ve been proud to support.

Country Cycles — ongoing retainer client

Country Cycles in Killearn is one of my ongoing retainer clients — a business I work with month after month, handling their marketing so they can focus on what they do best.

“Paul has been looking after our marketing for a year now with great results. He’s helpful and so easy to work with — it makes marketing a breeze.” — Keith, Country Cycles, Killearn

Bell HR Consulting

A complete marketing partnership for this Stirlingshire professional services business — developing a full marketing strategy document, building a new website, producing video content and delivering photography. Everything joined up, everything consistent, delivered by one trusted person who understood what the business needed and followed through.

“Working with Paul for my new website and marketing plan has been great. He took time to understand my business and what I needed.” — Alison, Bell HR Consulting

Parklife Magazine

For over a decade, I’ve written articles for Parklife Magazine — a free publication delivered bi-monthly across Stirlingshire — showcasing businesses, places and stories from across the area. That long association has deepened my understanding of Stirlingshire’s business community and strengthened connections across a wide range of local sectors that directly benefit my clients.

Charities and community organisations

I’ve worked with Discover Bridge of Allan and a Community Development Trust to create websites for their villages — helping these community-led organisations establish a clear, professional online presence that serves both residents and visitors. Across the third sector more broadly, I’ve supported a range of Stirlingshire charities with marketing, video and photography.

Understanding Stirling and Stirlingshire as a market

Stirling is a place of real contrasts — a historic city of national significance, surrounded by some of Scotland’s most dramatic landscapes, and home to a business community spanning tourism and hospitality, agriculture and rural enterprise, professional services, charities, and everything in between.

Marketing here requires a different kind of understanding from a purely urban market. Audiences are more varied. Seasonal pressures are real. The connections between the city, its surrounding towns and the rural economy matter — and the businesses that communicate well across all of those contexts are the ones that build lasting visibility and trust.

My 16+ years of working across Stirling and Stirlingshire — combined with hands-on experience across strategy, websites, video, photography and PR — give me a grounded understanding of what works in this market. Not just theory, and not just marketing knowledge imported from elsewhere. Practical experience of working with the people, places and businesses that make this area what it is.

Working together

I’m looking to work with more Stirling-area businesses and charities who want clearer, more effective marketing—and a trusted partner who takes responsibility for delivering it.

Not more noise. Not more disconnected activity. Just better thinking, better delivery, and one person you can rely on.
